You know, I've been working on this project in Hong Kong for a while. We're doing UAT now and there are heaps of problems. So this IT Lead fella, just before Chinese New Year, begged me to spend time in HK. I told him "this week I can go for 3 days only, then the week after, 1 week". He said "I will take what I can get"

Then today the joker tells me "I dono if I can justify you flying there for 3 days only". I'm like WTF man... 2 weeks ago you were begging me to go, and now this shit? I feel like I've been treated like shit.

And I fly economy! My flight is like USD350. Throw in hotel stay and I will clock max USD1K!

He himself flies himself out and spends 1 day or 2 in each country of his fancy and they clock USD20K!

CCB man.. tonite really no mood to support HK.

Stress

It's the Chinese New Year.. and I'm still working, man.. I got this system in HK that I wanna go live in April and I've been on calls every day to monitor testing, fixes (I even have to prioritise fixes, tai chi away change requests man!)

Sometimes when we're stressed, a lot of the communications between a few of us key folks become damn vulgar. Observe:

My son passed up the homework that I did for him last night.. his teacher looked at him and said

"Cher ker ser sui ter handwriting?"

My son said "Ser wor la".

His teacher looked at him funny...

Exams!

Last 2 weeks have been very stressful. My son, now in Standard 2, is having his exams! And of course I'm more stressed than him!

His exams started last week. He brought back a piece of paper with the time table. It said
- Thursday: Chinese
- Friday: BM
bla blah

Then on Thursday, he said "eh.. today BM exam". I'm like KNNECCB. Later he tells me "oh ya, teacher said the Chinese and BM the dates change.. " Damn! You see what I mean!

And my son's school.. Chinese school lah.. firstly.. his exams are BEFORE Chinese New Year.. The past 2 weekends, where got mood to go out and buy CNY clothes? All other Chinese schools the exams are AFTER new year!

Secondly, even tho got exam, still ada homework! Wah lao. Tomorrow, my son has BM Paper 2 and Chinese Paper 2 (ya man.. primary school oso got Paper 1 and 2). And he has 3 pieces of A4 homework to do! Wah lao.. if don't pass up, oso will kena punishment! I think I will do the homework for him....
